Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda came on the HotSpot and is confident of his party clawing back to power in Haryana after a gap of ten years.
The 76-year old, whose family has been associated with the Congress party for over 100 years, seems to have been given a free hand to lead the Congress campaign in the Haryana Assembly elections.
But he has earned the trust of the Gandhis after having stood by them even when the chips were down. Plus he is veteran of many electoral battles including defeating Chaudhary Devi Lal in three elections.
Hooda says the prime criteria for distribution of tickets has been winnability and the candidates' allegiance to the Congress party.
