Employers are vying for workers who possess the most in-demand skills, according to Priya Ramanathan, VP of government and workforce partnerships, General Assembly.
WorkingNation sat down with Ramanathan at Presented by JFF Horizons – See Beyond 2022 in New Orleans.
She says, “I think that the workers that have the most in-demand skills are being accessed by employers, but it's a very small pool. We have an incredible opportunity to broaden the definition of who active and qualified workers are in thinking about sector-based training and how we think about connecting digital skills.”
“There is an active pool, but that pool could be much larger.”
Ramanathan notes if the talent pool does not expand, it will be limited to the same people –leaving behind many qualified workers.
