[ Ссылка ] Timothy Seaman plays an informal hammered dulcimer version on his Dusty Strings D600 of his original composition 'Hazel River' (copyright 1997 by Timothy Seaman, 2005 by Pine Wind Music, Inc.). The piece is meant to approximately represent a memorable hike in Shenandoah National Park in 1977.
Timothy and his fiancee Ro joined Henry Smith and his fiancee Cindy for a day hike from the Skyline Drive down the source of the Hazel River to a small waterfall beside a cave, then back up the mountain. At the time there were mighty hemlock trees and oaks, species since decimated by alien moths and aphids, and by fire --- but it's still a wonderful place to take a hike and observe the resiliency of the Blue Ridge forest!
A studio version with additional instruments is recorded on the album Here on this Ridge ([ Ссылка ]) and the compilation Common Wealth ([ Ссылка ]).
