(6 Sep 2017) NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas on Wednesday visited Tapa military base in North Estonia where the UK-led battle group is stationed.
Stoltenberg commented on NATO's role, saying it sends a strong message, especially ahead of Russia's planned Zapad exercise.
Stoltenberg called on Russia to increase transparency of their exercise, but also said that there was no imminent threat to NATO countries.
"We will follow closely the Zapad exercise, we will monitor the activities. We are vigilant but also calm, because we don't see any imminent threat to any NATO ally", said Stoltenberg.
Ratas and Stoltenberg also received an overview of the weapons and infrastructure of the battlegroup and its allied forces.
Stoltenberg is in Estonia to participate in CYBRID 2017, the first cyber defence exercise for the defence ministers of the European Union, held in Tallinn on Thursday.
