I have always been happy working in the factories and I thought I'd meet someone special, get married and live happily ever after. Not to be, eh? At the age of 17 I got involved with the local church which was very satisfying for a long time, I loved singing there it made me so happy. I gave up the church to travel and do my own thing, not too sure if that was the right move, however I had lots of fun around Europe and other parts of the world. The thing is, I lived at home and I got lost in that comfort zone, yep my dad and me.
My mum and dad loved their small family record shop, which was called, wait for it, 'Marshall's Records' based in Accrington. Sadly for me and my bro, when I was about 12, my parents broke up but because of their love for music, they kept the business running for as long as they could, in fact it was the late eighties, when the business had to close down.
My dad thought he'd try and start a little business for me selling t-shirts on Accrington market. Although I enjoyed the market life we really struggled and I ended up getting a job in a factory processing Christmas cards and wrapping knick-knacks. Then! It hit me like a jet plane! My father passed away and I realised that time is short and you need to stop dreaming and do the stuff you dream of. The time had come to do what I'd always dreamed of and that was to make a record, a record that would get everybody singing, a record that would put joy into people's hearts, like a day I'd always dreamed of.
I am Dominic Marshall. I hope you enjoy my track as much as I have enjoyed making it.
Do-a-Day.
Dominic
