WHY AM I HAVING THIS ECO PUR FILTER REPLACEMENT PROBLEM?
The manufacturer of Eco Pur Filters designed the filters to have removable screw-in adapters. These adapters are the threaded pieces at the bottom of your filters. If you accidentally over-tightened this piece when you installed your previous filter, it may have caused the threaded piece to get stuck inside the spa. Before you install your new Eco Pur Filter, you simply need to remove the threaded tailpiece that is currently stuck inside the hot tub.
HOW DO I FIX THE ECO PUR FILTER PROBLEM AND INSTALL A NEW FILTER?
As we demonstrate in this video, solving the Eco Pur Filter problem is actually quite easy. First, find the filter housing and remove the two screws on either side of the flapper door. Then, lift straight up on the filter housing. Take a set of pliers and clamp it onto the threaded tailpiece that is stuck. Then, just turn it counter clockwise and it should come loose. After it is removed, you should be able to simply replace the filter housing and install your new Eco Pur Filter.
HOW CAN I PREVENT THIS PROBLEM FROM HAPPENING AGAIN IN MY TWILIGHT SPA?
To prevent the same problem from occurring in the future, we recommend you turn your Eco Pur Filter until it feels almost tight, and then turn it back a ¼ of the way.
