Short clips from our camera traps in the depths of Khao Sok!
Date captured : February 2015
Species identified : Asian Elephant (Elephas Maximus)
Conservation status: Threatened (endangered)
Real excitement in the whole Elephant Hills team upon discovering this marvelous wild tusker amongst the footage of our hidden camera traps.
Asian elephants are listed as endangered in the IUCN red list, which is only two ranks away from being entirely extinct in the wild!! Hence we are extremely glad to know that some few representatives (estimates range between 100-200 individuals) still live in Khao Sok National Park as well as its surrounding three National Parks and two wildlife sanctuaries.
