Kailash Kher is worldwide popular for his extraordinary performances in numerous Bollywood hit songs. He was born in 1973. Kailash’s music style is strongly influenced by Indian folk music. His powerful voice made him one of the most celebrated singers of Indian industry in recent history. He is prominent in Hindi, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Urdu and Rajasthani languages and music.
An initiative of Sun Foundation; ‘Dhaka International FolkFest’ is a celebration of sheer musical brilliance where myriads of folk artistes from home and abroad perform on a single platform.

কৈলাশ খের মূলত বলিউডের গান দিয়ে বিশ্বব্যাপী পরিচিতি পেলেও তাঁর সংগীতের মূল অনুপ্রেরণা ইন্ডিয়ান ফোক মিউজিক। কৈলাশের জন্ম ১৯৭৩ সালে। ভিন্ন ধরণের গায়কী ও কণ্ঠ তাঁকে সাম্প্রতিক সময়ের অন্যতম জনপ্রিয় ভারতীয় শিল্পীতে পরিণত করেছে। গুণী এই শিল্পী হিন্দি, পাঞ্জাবি, তামিল, তেলেগু, কান্নাড়া, উর্দু এবং রাজস্থানি ভাষায় গান গেয়েছেন।
সান ফাউন্ডেশনের উদ্যোগে আয়োজিত ‘ঢাকা ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ফোকফেস্ট’ লোকসংগীতের এক মিলনমেলা। এ উৎসবে বিশ্বের নানা প্রান্তের লোকসংগীত শিল্পীদের পরিবেশনায় অসাধারণ সব লোকগান শোনার সুযোগ পায় বাংলাদেশের মানুষ।
