Why should you take methylfolate vs folic acid? There are very few nutrients known to mankind that we put into our bodies that are used in the formats that we put them in. Our bodies need to convert everything we consume into a useable form. Proteins are broken down into amino acids. If you take folic acid, it needs to go through a sequence of steps for you body to turn in into methylfolate. It's only then that it becomes bioavailable to your body to use as it creates neurotransmitters, to digest food, to create motility in our gut, along with many other super important functions; all while impacting our mood and emotional states.
