Located in the Napo region of the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador, the Kichwa tribe maintain a peaceful way of life. I was fortunate enough to stay with them for some time and experience their culture first hand. A largely unknown issue of discrimination from Spanish Ecuadorian's toward Indigenous Ecuadorian tribes exists and has been a cause of unrest in the nation for many years. As the city grows bigger and closer to remote regions, native Ecuadorian's are forced to adapt to a new way of life, often lacking the resources to do so. The culture and philosophy of the Kichwa is one of teamwork and has helped them for generations. With unknown future ahead it will continue to do so.
