STORYLINE
About 30 anti-North Korea protesters held a rally in front of the South Korean defence ministry in Seoul on Wednesday, burning the North Korean flag and a poster of its leader, Kim Jong Un.
The group included war veterans in military uniform, one of whom repeatedly punched a poster of the young north-Korean leader.
One of the protesters called on the South Korean government to take direct military action against the North Korean regime, if it threatened it again.
"We are here to insist that the South Korean defence ministry - if North Korea provokes again - should directly hit the office of Kim Jong Un and kill him so that North Korea''s dictatorship can end," he said.
The North''s latest threat - the launch of a long-range rocket that exploded shortly after lift-off on April 13 - comes amid rising tensions on the Korean peninsula, with both Koreas recently unveiling new missiles.
The animosity has prompted worries that North Korea may conduct a new nuclear test, something it did after rocket launches in 2006 and 2009.
South Korean intelligence officials have said that recent satellite images show North Korea has been digging a new tunnel in what appears to be preparation for a third nuclear test.
