The HIV research involves black seeds, not black seed oil.

So far, there are two reports and two small clinical trials which appear to show that using a 60% / 40% mixture of black seeds and honey reduces signs and symptoms of infection, reduces HIV viral load to undetectable levels, and raises CD4 white blood cell counts.

These reports are followed up by larger and better clinical trials. Until then, I remain skeptical.

If these results are true, the mechanism of action is not known.

The recommended dosage is 10 ml (two teaspoons) three times a day for several months.

While side effects have not been reported in human studies, to be safe, if you are pregnant or take medications, speak to your doctor.

Black seeds, also known as Nigella sativa, are small black seeds derived from the Nigella sativa plant, which is native to Southwest Asia. These seeds have a bitter taste and been used for centuries in traditional medicine and culinary practices as spices. Preliminary research suggests Nigella sativa seeds may be beneficial for hypothyroidism and diabetes. The Prophet Muhammad is said to have once stated that "The black seed can heal every disease, except death.”

Black seeds are sometimes called black cumin. While both seeds are black, black cumin is not nigella sativa. This is also true for black caraway and nutmeg flower also.
