The Fender Bass VI was introduced in 1961 as a 6-string bass, and can be seen as a fascinating cross between a Jazz Bass and a Jaguar. The Bass VI is also reminiscent of a baritone guitar, but is tuned an octave lower than a regular guitar and features the length of a short-scale bass.
This Bass VI features an offset body that features a carefully aged Fiesta Red finish. The narrow maple neck has a string spacing that will appeal to guitarists more than bassists, and this is reflected in the famous users of this instrument; John Lennon, George Harrison, Joe Perry and Robert Smith, among others, played the Bass VI.
The Bass VI is also equipped with three single coil pickups with an on/off switch per pickup, plus the so-called strangle switch. A tremolo also gives the Bass VI extra options that are not possible with a regular bass. This Bass VI comes with all Custom Shop accessories in a hardshell case.
