Beck and Call is an English Country Dance devised by Colin Hume in 1992. It is a six couple longways dance. Colin recommends dancing it three times through, which gives everyone a chance to be active.
The music was published by Playford with the dance "The New Royal Exchange", and was performed by Brett Larsen.
The animation plays at 116 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the moves more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color may change each time through the minor set.
