This half day Adventure down Winter Camp Wash, just a mile east of Arches National Park, went terribly wrong for us! We decided to do it quickly as the sun was setting and in our haste we misread the Road Trip Ryan description and ended up getting . . . Trapped. . . 50' deep in a freezing dark cavern. We were stuck on a small ledge alcove above another enormous drop (120') into a deep dark cave-like slot canyon, night was falling and temperatures were plummeting. We managed to escape just as we were engulfed in complete Moonless Black night with sub Freezing temperatures. We came back the next morning to complete the adventure, plus we had to get Spencer's iphone we were forced to leave behind the harrowing, frozen night before! The full 175' Descent was terrifying yet Amazing as was the Mile plus stroll through a beautiful but non technical canyon finish.
