For many of us, homelessness may be closer than we think. Just one unfortunate circumstance, injury or illness can bring devastating consequences.
During any given night, there are more than 200 people experiencing homelessness in Mohave County, Ariz. The Legacy Foundation Christine Stamper Center for Help & Hope, operated by Catholic Charities, is the only emergency shelter for families and individuals in the Tri-State area. The shelter opened in 2020 to provide emergency housing in Bullhead City, and to serve as a day resource center and an outreach center. The 67-bed shelter provides three meals a day every day of the week in addition to access to showers, laundry facilities, computers, and most importantly, case management services to help individuals on their path to permanent housing and self-sustainability.
