Here in America, we're hardly known for our health-consciousness. Between Burger King's Bacon Shake and KFC's Double-Down, we seem to have the market cornered on cuisine that barely qualifies as food. But outside the U.S., fast-food restaurants serve up items that are just as questionable, and half as pretty -- and today, we're gonna be talking about them as I count down the Top 5 Weirdest International Fast Food Items!
Starting off our list at number five, we've got China's Shredded Pork and Dried Seaweed Donut, from Dunkin' Donuts! In America, donuts are usually a sweet treat - but on the other side of the globe, the chain has introduced "savory" pastries to their menu. Think we're missing out?
At number four on our list, the Chicken McDo with Spaghetti, from McDonalds! You've got to travel all the way to the Philippines to grab this bizarre value meal made up of a fried chicken drumstick and a little bit of spaghetti. Chicken too dry for you? Grab a side of gravy!
Sliding in at number three is the super-greasy McGrillschnagg from Swiss McDonalds! From far away, this sandwich might look like a regular burger, but up close it reveals its meaty secrets!A coiled up sausage sits atop a hash brown patty and a stack of bacon. My heart hurts just talking about it.
Our number two pick is total sensory overload! If you head into a Pizza Hut in Japan, you can pick up the Winter Double King Pizza! It's toppings are just as random and extreme as its name --crab, shrimp , beef, broccoli, onion, corn, egg, potato, and lots of mayonnaise! The crust is made up of a ring of fried shrimp stuffed with even more mayo! Yay?
And finally, our number one weirdest international fast food item is...Jollibee's Tuna Pie! While it looks like your standard drive-thru pie from the outside, you'll find that once you bite through it's crispy crust, you've got nothing but a soggy wad of tuna fish waiting for you! If this sounds tasty, check out the menu at Jollibee's, the Philippino equivalent of McDonalds.
