I went on the perfect overnight backpacking trip with my ideal combo of luxurious and ultralight backpacking gear! Here in Washington State, May and June is still the early season for backpacking. Many of the trails here are high in the mountains, and while the snows are melting day by day, it is still mostly winter up there. But there are a few gorgeous lower elevation trails here where summer arrives early! With a great weather window I headed out to spend a glorious overnight at Ingalls Creek with Abby and Rainer - the Miranda Goes Outside crew, and my two best friends! Plus Tucker, of course, the ultimate good dog! We had attempted a luxurious trip like this last year but the bugs ate us alive! This time? It was just perfect. This is what ideal early season backpacking looks like to me. I hope you enjoy! 😊
