The Nighthawk Custom Drop-In Trigger System is the ultimate upgrade to production model 1911s. The DTS gives shooters a crisp, clean, 3.75-4 lb trigger pull that can be installed right at home. However, some models, such as Springfield Armory models, do require minor gunsmithing.

In this video, Bob Reeves demonstrates how to fit the grip safety of a Springfield Armory 1911 for the DTS. On Springfield Armory 1911 models, the backside of the grip safety has a small amount of webbing that interferes with the housing of the DTS. Bob shows how to clear away that excess material, allowing the grip safety to fully seat.
