SpaceX's Crew-5 is the firth operational crewed rotation mission of Crew Dragon spacecraft to the International Space Station. The crew has been detailed in this video with training back stage footage and has detailed information about their mission. This amazing crew of 4 are exceptional talented astronauts trained by NASA and flying for the commercial aerospace company of SpaceX. They will be relieving Crew-4 astronauts Kjell Lindgren, Robert Hines, Jessica Watkins, and Samantha Cristoforetti.
SpaceX’s Crew-5 mission, a Falcon 9 rocket launched the “Endurance” Crew Dragon spacecraft with NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Cassada, JAXA astronaut Koichi Wakata and Roscosmos cosmonaut Anna Kikina, from the Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, on 5 October 2022, at 16:00 UTC (12:00 EDT). The “Endurance” Crew Dragon is scheduled to dock to the International Space Station on 6 October 2022, around 20:57 UTC (16:57 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1077) landed on the “Just Read the Instructions” drone ship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean.
During their time on the orbiting laboratory, (about 6 months) the crew will conduct over 200 science experiments and technology demonstrations in areas such as human health and lunar fuel systems. With these experiments the crew will pave the way for the moon missions of Artemis and Gateway. Continuing the thrive for the United States to return to the moon by 2026.
