28/06/2024 marked the final day of operation for the 2nd generation Metro-Cammell units used on the Glasgow “Clockwork Orange” underground system which had been in service since 1980. One set was put on both the inner circle and the outer circle for a few hours in the afternoon. Originally meant to be finishing at 4, the inner circle set stayed on until 17:26. Here it is departing Govan station back to Broomloan depot for a final time. Apologies the video is quite close up, there was very little space. No doubt better footage of this and the day in general will be published by the various others who decided to be a part of yet another final chapter in the railway history; this serves more for my own personal record.
