Samedan Airport, also known as Engadin Airport, is a regional airport in the Engadin valley of Switzerland, 5 km from famous St Moritz. Flying to this airport nested within the Swiss Alps is a great challenge for pilots and plane. Flight procedures and aircraft performances are very strongly affected by those high mountains. The mountain approach through the Engadin Valley takes extreme concentration, skill and teamwork even for experienced pilots. The Engadin Airport is even the highest airport in Europe at above 5'600 feet and also provides a most beautiful backdrop with lush green meadows, dark forest and crystal blue rivers and lakes.
