Phase Gates are an advanced technology, allowing people to teleport from one solar system to the other. Since they are individually owned by various governments and super-corporations, the Trans-System Federation was established to create the Charter, a document that regulates intergalactic travel, provides basic rights, and tries to stop people from killing one another.

A special force called the Frontiersmen is in charge of enforcing the Charter. Through rigorous training, all Frontiersmen are physically and mentally capable, and well-suited for close-quarter tactical skirmishes. However, their military prowess, combined with their strong sense of morality, have caused problems for the TSF whose actions go against the very Charter they’ve created

With the Frontiersmen in danger of being dissolved, a greater foe appeared on a mining facility in the Ariadne Arm System. Rapidly evolving from Bacterium and hostile toward humans, the cunning Kharaa spread quickly across the system, using resources to build Hives, granting them the ability to operate as one - comparable to the Frontiersmen. The Kharaas have grown exponentially, systematically invading ships and have become a threat to all human civilization.

Facing the loss of the Ariadne Arm System and its people, it’s now up to the Frontiersmen marines to engage the aliens in close-quarter combat and eradicate Hives. Meanwhile, the Kharaa must annihilate the human presence to continue their evolution as the galaxy’s apex predator. Have fun!
