Strauss Capelle Vienna - Live concert
Beijing, China 2017
Conductor: Maestro Rainer Roos
The fast polka "Thunder and lighting" was written by Johann Strauss II for the carnival ball of the artists' association Hesperus and premiered at this event in 1868 in the Dianabad Hall in Vienna. In the work, Johann Strauss II musically describes a summer storm, highlighted mainly by a series of acts in the percussion section of the orchestra. It is one of the best known and most popular compositions by Johann Strauss II.
The orchestra Strauss Capelle Vienna maintains Johann Strauss' purpose of this piece by all means.
