Anxious relatives of those aboard the Air China plane which crashed in South Korea waited at Beijing airport for news of their loved ones.
Police say 54 people have survived the crash but the rest of the 166 on board were killed.
The Air China plane from Beijing crashed in rain and fog shortly before noon (0300 GMT) as it approached Kimhae Airport near Busan, South Korea's second largest city, 320 kilometres (200 miles) southeast of Seoul.
The plane crashed on a mountain near a residential area.
It was not clear if there were any casualties on the ground.
The airline has set up an emergency office and a hot line in Beijing for families of
passengers.
Air China's office in Seoul said the Boeing 767 was carrying 155 passengers and 11 crewmen.
The passengers on Flight CA-129 included 135 South Koreans, 19 Chinese and one person from Uzbekistan.
