Have you ever wondered that what do those deadly poisons which are shown in the TV shows or about which we read in the newspaper actually do your body? It’s really very difficult to digest that technology has improved so well that even the deadly poisons can be manufactured. People are aware of the fact that they are dangerous and there will be loss of life but they are still manufactured. Among all those poisons, there are some that are especially potent in harming us humans. Today, we made a list of the top 10 deadliest poisons known to humanity.

Number 10, Cyanide. Cyanide is known as one of the deadliest poisons known to Humanity, but it also has good history. Many scientists believe that this was a chemical which was responsible for bring life to the earth. But today, it’s more known as a life taking chemical. A small dose of this poison can kill a person in minutes. Cyanide when enters into the body, gets bonded with the iron that is present in the blood cells and prevents the circulation of oxygen on the body, slowly killing you in the process.

Number 9, Anthrax. If you touch anthrax then you get affected by it. The deadliest way by which it gets into the body is through inhaling. Once inhaled, you then start experiencing symptoms of the flu and colds. The symptomsdon’t go away for many days and as a result, it blocks the respiratory system. You won’t be able to breathe and you will die from lack of oxygen. Normally, people who have inhaled anthrax die within a week, and 90% of the people affected by Anthrax die. Making it a poison that has a high mortality rate.

Number 8 is the nerve gas, Sarin. Sarin is a very dangerous and deadly nerve gas. The initial symptoms of this nerve gas are tightness in the chest and runny nose. Very soon, you won’t be able to breathe. After sometime, you will then lose control of yourself and your body stops functioning. Death when affected by Sarin can come as quick as 60 seconds, in which you will suffocate before eventually dying. This nerve gas was used in a terrorist attack on the Tokyo sub way.

Number 7, Amatoxin. This kind of poison is present in some dangerous mushrooms. This poison can attack if you take or eat even a single bite of a mushroom of this kind. This is one of the deadliest poisons known to Humanity. This poison attacks directly the kidney and the liver of the human body. This will continue for few days, and after that you go into a coma that you will never come out of. Death will eventually follow a few days after you’re in a coma.

Number 6, Strychnine. This poison is an odorless white powder like substance which is extracted from some trees found in Southeast Asia and India. This poison can be given orally or it can also be inhaled. It is the bitterest substance to the human beings. Only a small amount of this poison also causes death. Just in minutes after it is inhaled or taken orally, the neck and the head muscles start to contract. This contraction will soon be visible in the other muscles of the body, which leads todeath that comes within 30 minutes after you’re affected with this poison.

Number 5, Mercury. Elemental and methylmercury are toxic to the central and peripheral nervous systems. The inhalation of mercury vapour can produce harmful effects on the nervous, digestive and immune systems, lungs and kidneys, and may be fatal. The inorganic salts of mercury are corrosive to the skin, eyes and gastrointestinal tract, and may induce kidney toxicity if ingested.Neurological and behavioural disorders may be observed after inhalation, ingestion or dermal exposure of different mercury compounds. Symptoms include tremors, insomnia, memory loss, neuromuscular effects, headaches and cognitive and motor dysfunction.
