Early May 2017, Israeli government dissolved the Israel Broadcasting Authority, founded in 1948 (television appeared in 1968). IBA's main channel, Channel 1, closed down after the Eurovision Song Contest, on the 13th of May. On the 15th, the new Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation, branded as KAN (hebrew for "Here") was launched, renaming IBA's Channel 1, KAN 11 (referring to the channel's number on Satellite and Cable). This historic change is full of consequences : less news and information programmes, and thus an uncertainty on the future of Israel in the European Broadcasting Union.
