The World Health Organisation says there's an increase in the number of cancer cases in Africa. In South Africa doctors are seeing a high number of patients with colon cancer. South Africa currently doesn't have an official registry of the number of people living with cancer. Cervical, breast, testicular and prostate are the most common cancers in South Africa. As the world commemorates World Cancer Day today, under the theme "I am and I will" - South Africans have been urged to get screened for various cancers to detect them early.
