Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms and Onion

Ingredients:
1 lb Ground Beef
¾ Cup of milk or Heavy Cream
¾ Cup of Panko
1 whole egg, whisked
Couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
½ of a chopped sweet onion (already sautéed till soft)
2 Cloves of garlic, chopped
Salt and pepper

Gravy Ingredients:
1 Sweet onion, sliced
1 pound of sliced mushrooms of your choice
3 cloves of garlic, chopped
½ stick of butter
½ cup of flour
½ cup Port wine
Couple dashes of Worcestershire sauce
2 to 3 cups of Beef Broth
Salt and pepper

For the “Steak” —
In a medium bowl,
add the ground beef and the remaining ingredients and mix well.

Form the meat mixture into 4 equal patties,
forming into a football kind of shape.

Heat several tablespoons of olive oil in a nonstick pan.
Add the patties and cook until brown on both sides —
about 3 minutes on each side.

Remove the patties and set aside.

In the same pan, add a couple more tablespoons of olive oil.
Add onions and salt and pepper to taste.
Sauté until slightly softened.

Add the mushrooms and a little more salt and pepper.
Sauté until browned. (Add more oil if needed)

Add the butter and melt.

Add the flour and mix into the butter and cook for one minute.

Add the port wine and reduce by half.

Add the Worcestershire sauce and beef broth.
Simmer and allow to thicken.

Add the patties to the sauce, topping the patties with the sauce.
Heat through — about 3 minutes.

Serve with mashed potatoes and/or veggies.
