Technically speaking this is allowed. You can lay down and recite Quran. In all clean circumstances you are allowed to recite Quran except for the circumstances where you are explicitly prohibited.
Although we should not become lax when it comes to upholding the honour of Quran according to our sacred tradition. We have to make sure we follow the proper adaab.
