Young-At-Heart (Richards-Leigh) by Frank Sinatra, orchestra conducted by Nelson Riddle
Sinatra signed with Capitol Records in 1953 and soon after developed that legendary recording kinship with conductor-arranger Nelson Riddle. Their first true blockbuster hit “Young-At-Heart” sold over a million copies and reached #2 on both the Billboard and Cash Box best-seller charts (his last previous major seller had been “Five Minutes More” in 1946).
The tune was not “from” the late-1954 Sinatra-Doris Day movie “Young At Heart” (a musical re-make of “Four Daughters”), but the song’s great popularity earlier in the year convinced the producers to use its title for the as-yet-unnamed feature and also include the song under the opening and closing credits.
