See how we convert the popular Hurco VMX42i workhorse into a 5-axis machining centre with an add-on trunnion table. The Hurco Winmax Controller, capable of simultaneous 5-axis movement, provides the End User with an opportunity to upgrade their 3-axis VMC to a 5-axis VMC by adding on a 4th & 5th axis trunnion table. Such a configuration provides flexibility to the end-user for secondary set-up, while maintaining full 5-axis capability: both Multiple-side machining and Simultaneous 5-axis machining.
In this demo, a simultaneous barrel cutting tool path was adopted to reduce cycle time while maintaining a superior surface finish.
