While any degree of narrowing may evoke concern, the cardiologist carefully considers the severity of the condition as one factor among others. These factors include your symptoms, results of any other functional tests, and your clinical presentation, all of which contribute to a comprehensive assessment of your cardiovascular health. On the angiogram, a narrowing of more than 70% or more is considered a significant narrowing that may warrant treatment, for example, with a stent device or bypass surgery.
