The Kenyan Gen Z is undeniably making an impact across Africa and beyond with their bold demonstrations, effectively revealing the corrupt leadership in their country. The protests were ignited when President William Ruto attempted to pass the 2024 finance bill, which was drafted by the IMF and the World Bank and later voted on by Kenyan members of parliament. Astonishingly, those MPs who voted in favor of the finance bill, disregarding the will of the Kenyan people, are now facing the consequences as Gen Z is actively holding them accountable by targeting their homes, damaging their opulent properties, and even resorting to violent measures. Gen Z is resolute in their claim that these leaders have abandoned the very electorate that put them into office.
