Sirkeci (pronounced [ˈsiɾkedʒi]) is an urban area in the Eminonu district of Istanbul, adjacent to Sirkeci Station, a passenger terminal built for the Orient Express; cultural and historical center of the city. The infrastructure of the territory is mainly commercial and touristic and consists of small shops, workshops, boutiques, hotels, restaurants of traditional Turkish cuisine, bookstores with books in Turkish and many other languages, offices of travel agencies.
