Tesla Slashes Car Prices Globally Amid Falling Sales | Subscribe to Firstpost
Elon Musk's electric car giant Tesla slashed the prices of its cars around the globe, including in key markets like the US, China, and Germany. This comes as the firm grapples with falling sales and intensifying market competition. First, the EV maker reduced the prices of three car models in the US on April 20. Two days later, it lowered prices in other markets as well. Tesla cut the starting price of the Model 3 cars in China by $1,930 to $32,000. In Germany, the price of the Model 3 rear-wheel-drive was trimmed to $43,670.75. The company also slashed its "Full Self-Driving" software price in the U.S. from $12,000 to $8,000. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in a post that “Tesla prices must change frequently in order to match production with demand.”
