On Monday 17 November, the construction began on the Showplace and Derby LIVE Derby Christmas Ice Rink. The build took almost two weeks in total and was finished on Friday 28 November in time for the opening at 1pm and the launch at 6pm. The Derby Christmas Ice Rink will be open until Monday 5 January 2015 but will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day.
