NIO reports record deliveries. China EV market is going wild!
Stock Popped on analyst coverage. Edison Yu from Deutsche Bank says " Nio has a shot becoming the next iconic auto brand".

Reported 12,206 in Q3 2020 deliveries and new record!
It may seem like a small number of vehicles delivered but it is an incredible 154% improvement over Q3 last year.

This brings the number of EV companies with battery swapping strategies to 5. At least one of the new vehicle models with swappable batteries like Tesla is planning to uses the Lithium Ferro phosphate battery chemistry I discussed in my last video. Tesla itself appear to be steering itself away from battery swapping from What I can gather with the new battery cell/vehicle integration manufacturing techniques.
It is interesting to see that our market and China’s may develop radically different because of how subsidies are structured
Many people think that swappable technology is becoming popular to keep the price of certain EV model in china under the $43,000 so they still qualify for subsidies.
Sales are great for NIO but the EV market in China is actually pretty big and growing almost 100k were purchased in China in August
China has a lot of EV manufacturers focused on all types of clients ranging from Wuling that sells a mini EV with a range between 75 and 106 miles that after incentives only costs between $4,000 – $5500 up to the luxury brand NIO focused which produces vehicles aimed at the more affluent market sectors.
