In this excerpt from the lecture on Tradition Education vs. Modern Education, The Maakheru, Master Naba Lamoussa Morodenibig explains the purpose of education in very simple terms: "Do this, or don't do that." He compares the traditional method of teaching how to be good to the agenda of colonial education system to educate people to be subservient by teaching them that their culture is evil. When the people abandon their own culture for colonial culture, they become domesticated.
