Found running through a forest, bare chest and covered in blood, John West, an amnesiac, is admitted to a psychiatric hospital, under the care of Dr Elizabeth Santer. With no memory of his identity and no record of his existence, the military take him into custody out of fear of a potential attack on the disarmament conference.
