Top tips to make a session Game related:
2. Ball - Having a ball present for as much of the session as possible. As a coach you want to simulate a game as best as possible an during a game there will be a ball present at all times.
3. Direction - The ball and players move in a way that they would in a game. Have goals/targets/areas the players move ball towards
4. Outcome - Coaches should look to create an environment where every action important and related to a positive or negative outcome. It not a coach shouting or punishing the players but finding ways to reward positive actions and have a consequence or a negative action to encourage the moment to become a learning moment. For example the opponents opportunities to exploit mistakes is an example an outcome
5. Opponent - Its key that like in a game there are some form of opposition present during training. This allows and challenges the players learn to pick up key information from opponents to inform their actions
Variations:
1. Easier - Increase outnumbering
2. Easier - suggest passing patterns or combinations
3. Harder - coach does not stay in center circle but moves - defense must orient where coach is after gaining ball
4. Harder - Play action in equal numbers
