Inspired by "Mrs. America" on Hulu, I'm mixing up drinks inspired by the enduring legacy of the second wave feminists of the 1970's, beginning with Bella Abzug and a cocktail that's *almost* as strong as she was.
Bella Ab-sinthe Sour Recipe:
2 oz. Absinthe
1 oz. Lemon Juice
1 oz. Simple Syrup (Rosemary infused optional)
Egg White
**My episodes are generally researched, filmed and posted in just a few hours. I strive for accuracy, but occasionally there are errors or omissions.
--I forgot to note that you should use a pasteurized egg white. Consuming raw eggs comes with risks.
--The ABV of the Absinthe I used was 90%, many are much higher than that, so again--proceed with caution.
--I believe I may have been confusing when I spoke about the terms surrounding Bella's death. She died of heart disease after battling breast cancer for several years.
--An interesting fact I left out--while she was an undergraduate, Bella not only attended Hunter college, but also the Jewish Theological Seminary of America.
