Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot wants answers to how the state labor department spent COVID-19 relief aid. The comptroller assembled a workgroup to conduct a full inspection and review of how pandemic funds have been used. The workgroup on Thursday met with the deputy secretary of the Maryland Department of Labor to examine COVID-19 spending and fraud, but most of their questions remained unanswered.
