【Pls look at the top comment first】This is a rare female-fronted aor from Greece, Divorce, and nowadays the band was a name of past, leaving two albums recorded during early 1990s. In 2003, a re-released record came out, consisting of the former works of Divorce. Actually this album is the form of 2 CD on 1: the 1991 self-titled debut Divorce and the 1993 album Triangle, but the band broke up around 1993 shortly after their second album was released.
The core members of Divorce were Johanna Gian (vocals) and George Ozmak (synthesizer, guitars). Born in a music family from the United States, Johanna started her music activities at a very young age and was deeply influenced by lots of rock stars during her teen years before she moved to Greece.
The time George was looking for a singer, Johanna was introduced to meet him by a friend, then she tried to write down the lyrics of those instumental demo tracks from George. The initial opportunity of mutual collaboration was the beginning of Divorce. This song "You Give Me Love" is included in the debut, a mini album produced in 1991 at Molon Lave Studios, managed by George Ozmak, the owner of the label. Initially, this song was also Johanna Gian's favourite work as she wrote it at the age of 16 before she joined Divorce and later was made into their debut as one of the representative works.
Though Divorce only exsisted for a short period of time when Johanna moved back to the United States, they won warm reputation and support from loyal fans in Greece. So their works seem to be more precious to cherish, a young girl's rock dream and dedication as well as one of the few Greek aor names in early 1990s.
P.S. The intro reminds me of Enigma, does anyone think so?
