Use this walkthrough of Carmelita's Gunner in Sly 2: Band of Thieves to blast the evil Clockwork, as he pursues Carmelita's copter through the skies. Take out the missiles, energy rings, and other attacks at the bird's command, and wear down the creature's health. After the ensuing cutscene, you'll head to the game's final battle, Showdown with Clock-La.

When the mission begins, Carmelita will appear in her helicopter, and tell you to hop in, acting as her tail gunner as Clockwork pursues the craft through the skies around the airship. You need to keep Carmelita, and yourself, safe from the mechanical bird's dangerous attacks, which come in several forms. Most damaging is his charged attack, which will devastate your health if it lands. Luckily, you can hear this attack charging up, and interrupt it by shooting the bird before he gets a chance to fire. Prioritize this one, leaving aside whatever else you're doing to hit the bird whenever you hear it charging.Of course, you should be doing your best to shoot him whenever you get the chance, but you'll often have to take time out to blast the missiles and energy rings he send your way. The missiles come in two types: the yellow is the weaker, blowing up with just a hit or two; the red will take a bit more damage before it blows, so be ready to pump as many shots as necessary into it to destroy it before it reaches you. Blast the energy rings as quickly as you can in order to make them open up, so your can pass safely through. Be sure to shoot them only once, or they'll close up again, and potentially hit you. Keep your craft safe, and keep wearing down Clockwork's health, as you fly through the skies. You need to keep the tendency of the turrets to overheat in mind here, as you need to have shots ready in case of emergencies, like when the bird charges his most dangerous attack. Like the other turrets you'be used throughout the game, these guns will overheat if you fire them continuously, so don't fire unless you have to, and always keep at least one turret free in case you need it. Once you've crashed the bird down, you'll begin your final battle of the game.
