My issue is seemingly simple, but none of the other threads about this issue has helped solve my problem. Basically, I am using my Scarlett 18i8 | Focusrite as a control surface. I have 4 microphones plugged into it that I want to record my drum set with, but I can only get Reaper to recognize two of them (at a time). I will concisely summarize what I am noticing: When I select the BR-800 via the Control Surfaces tab in Preferences, the Br-800 inputs and outputs are named "2-BR-800"; I'm assuming this is indicating there are only two inputs being recognized? inputs (and I configure them properly w/ the routing), they are recognized fine; Also, when I select the 4th mic individually (it only lets you do this with the 4th mic), it comes through fine. However, when I turn on 4 track recording, Only the first two mics are recognized (I am assuming it is because it is technically not in mono anymore? or maybe Reaper is only set to see 1 or 2 mics at a time?) The last 2 microphones are still audible through the program, but they simply will not be recognized/recorded by Reaper. I was getting a message from Reaper claiming that the input/output ports could not be opened, but I accidentally turned that error off so I can no longer tell if I Reaper is still doing this. Adding more inputs or outputs under "Device" does not seem to do anything. I tried reinstalling Reaper (I think twice?), but it apparently did not alleviate the issue. Besides Reaper ignoring the other mics, the BR-800 seems to work fine with Reaper; it controls the faders fine; pressing play, pause, restart, record, etc, triggers the similar function within Reaper. The weirdest part is that I am almost certain I recorded three different mics on the 4-track record once when I first downloaded Reaper, but it is possible I only recorded two mics and one of them was recorded twice. I am sorry this post was super detailed and convoluted, if you would like to me describe something more simply or elaborately don't hesitate to ask. I have installed a VST (Ez-Drummer 2) and used my ME-80 within Reaper, so if you believe those could have some impact on Reaper's functionality I'd also be happy to describe what I've done with each of them. Reaper not recognizing more then 2 inputs FIX. Reaper not recognizing more then 2 inputs from Interface (FIX).
