This intra-operative video demonstrates cubital tunnel decompression surgery performed by Raleigh Hand Center physicians. This procedure is performed in the setting of prolonged ulnar nerve compression in patients when non-operative treatment fails to relieve symptoms. Patients with cubital tunnel syndrome report numbness and tingling in the small and ring fingers and occasionally weakness in the hand. Severe cases can present with muscle loss and poor coordination in the hand. This is due to significant "pinching" of the ulnar nerve within the elbow.
