For this time lapse video, I got a great room at a Best Western on Michigan Avenue looking out across Grant Park at Lake Michigan in one of the world's great cities, Chicago. You can see the Shedd Aquarium (named after the retail executive who funded it) and the Field Museum of Natural History (named after his employer, Marshall Field). New south-of-the-loop skyscraper housing casts its moving shadow from the right side, and commuter trains stop right in the middle of the park. This rail line was built on landfill in the mid-19th century by the Illinois Central Railroad, which runs right all the way to New Orleans, passing the University of Chicago neighborhood enroute. Sculpture and architecture are all around you in this great city, here backed up by its favored music, the blues.
