**Before We Begin**
There’s something you need to know.
While this case might not be personal to you, it reveals a sad truth about *Population: One*.
BigBox keeps banning my accounts without clear reasons—or is there a reason?
A year ago, Ruf-Fer and I had a challenge to get the Verified title first. He bought YouTube subscribers, while I focused on unique content and mods, like adding a GUI to show my HP and inventory in-game. Learning to mod took me a week, though it can be done in minutes.
Back in 2022-2023, few believed me when I exposed cheating in VR. My video, “Hacking in VR,” was made to show how easy cheating is. I made sure to clarify my good intentions and only used bots for demonstration. Still, I mentioned others who were clearly cheating.
Weeks later, my two-year-old account was banned without explanation. BigBox support ignored my queries, and support tickets were auto-closed. Before my video, another YouTuber
using a speedhack also got banned.
Months later, I posted another video showing a glitch, and that account was banned too. I realized my YouTube was being monitored, so I went under the radar, sharing videos only on Telegram. Yet, I got banned again nine months later when they found my new account.
The truth is, I never cheated. I’m only being banned for revealing my username. My Telegram has over 800 daily gameplay videos.
All of my accounts were banned because I:
- RUINED THEIR REPUTATION
- EXPOSED CHEATING IN THE GAME
They know I’m not a cheater.
Cheating in *Population: One* is easy, even on Quest Standalone. Despite this, the game lacks anti-cheat protection, unlike other VR games. BigBox, under Meta’s influence since 2021, doesn’t add free anti-cheat solutions. Their goal is to create the illusion of a competitive game with streamers, clans, and “legends.”
Most cheaters use obvious hacks like flying or infinite ammo, but others use subtle cheats like reduced recoil or custom aim assist. These are harder to detect and are used by whitelisted players with private keys.
Adding basic anti-cheat would stop 99% of cheating, but that’s not in their interest. They want to maintain the illusion of a competitive game.
*Population: One* isn’t what it used to be. The community is deteriorating, the game is free and overrun with kids, and server performance has worsened. BigBox’s poor updates and fixes are ruining the game.
