Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has described the country as being at a "turning point" after the opposition swept municipal elections in major cities, including Istanbul. The results represent a setback for Erdogan, who has been in power for two decades. The main opposition party, the Republican People's Party, won the Istanbul and Ankara mayoral elections, as well as the municipalities of 36 of Turkey's 81 provinces.
